The refrigerator temperature compensation switch is designed for refrigerators operating in wide climate zones, taking into account the significant temperature differences between northern and southern China. In low ambient temperatures (below 10°C), the temperature compensation switch must be turned on for normal operation.

When the ambient temperature is low, if the temperature compensation switch is not turned on, the compressor will operate significantly less frequently or not at all, resulting in shorter operating times and longer off times. This causes the freezer compartment temperature to be too high, preventing frozen food from freezing completely. Therefore, the temperature compensation switch must be turned on. (The principle is that when the ambient temperature is below 10°C, this switch needs to be turned on to warm the refrigerator compartment, forcing the refrigerator to operate passively to maintain a low freezing temperature in the freezer compartment.) Turning on the temperature compensation switch does not affect the refrigerator's lifespan. Once winter is over and the ambient temperature rises above 15°C, the temperature compensation switch should be turned off to avoid frequent compressor starts and save electricity.
